Thinking outside of the box for hotel rooms

There is an amazing hotel in Copenhagen called the Hotel Fox. They brought in graphic designers, graffiti artists, and illustrators from around the world to design and decorate each room with a unique vision. Here's the kicker-it's the brainchild of Volkswagen, the car manufacturer!

61 rooms, 21 artist, 1,000 ideas
Each room is an individual piece of art. From whacky comical styles to strict graphic design. From fantastic street art and Japanese Manga to simply spaced out fantasies. You will find flowers, fairytales, friendly monsters, dreaming creatures, secrets vaults and…

You can see a movie of the making of this hotel here.
It's fun to read the description each artist gives about his or her concept and design choices for the room. Here's what two artists had to say about their design:
“FOXy deep red paints and fabrics mixed with a dark and sultry palette makes this a seductive and sophisticated room. It is designed to intoxicate and relax – like a nightclub with beautiful sexy princess women, party-divas, and men who look like clowns.”

Here are some other rooms

There are similar themed "art hotels" popping up in other locations.
Take this one in San Francisco,Hotel des Artes

A few other art hotels:
Seattle, WA: Hotel Max
Tasmania, Australia: Henry Jones Art Hotel
Singapore: New Majestic Hotel
Bangkok, Thailand: Reflections
Paris, France: Hôtel du Petit Moulin
More

SO much better than your standard, non-descript hotel room, don't you think?
