Count-down to CA?
Some of you might notice I've got a new widget up on the right sidebar, part-way down the page. We're moving back to California at the end of June (!), and I thought this would be a neat way to keep track. After 7 years living on the east coast, first in upstate NY, then in Maryland, my husband, dog Lucy, and I are moving back to the Bay Area (we're both from the area originally). We've met so many wonderful people, and really grown attached to quirky B'more.
I also thought the counter would be helpful for those of you in the Baltimore/DC area who might have been considering using my consultation services to help you with color selection, but hadn't gotten around to it just yet. Things are going to start getting crazy as our relocation date draws closer, so if you were thinking of calling me later, this is your heads up!
But not to worry, I love writing this blog, and will continue to pepper you with color tid-bits regardless of where in the world I'm living. That's the beauty of the blogosphere-isn't it fantastic?

Welcome back to the Bay Area. Something about it that keeps calling us back.
I was just in Baltimore for a business trip and took some time to explore downtown. I loved the stone buildings and cobbled streets not to mention the VAM.
Safe travels.
bacchus- Thanks for the welcome! We've really enjoyed our time in Baltimore, with all it has to offer. I love the AVAM (American Visionary Art Museum), too! Did you see the sparkly tree out front? But now it's time to move home, to be near family, put down some roots, and all that fun stuff.
So, now I have to land some sort of amazing color consultant job in CA. I'd like to work for a firm or other designer. Any leads, suggestions, or ideas would be immensely appreciated!!
And so we can throw a big bon voyage party for you all!
I love the sparkly tree! I took about a half dozen photos of the tree and as many of the entrance. Had it literally not been freezing the morning I was there it could have been dozens of photos.
I don't know of any job openings but I'll keep my ears open. Are you moving to the city?
I've made friends in San Francisco over the years, from my time spent on the computer, and it's a wonderful city. I remain in touch with them, and I know I will continue following the writing and musings on your blog. Good luck in the shift.
bacchus- this is actually the third or later iteration of the sparkly tree that the AVAM has had up. they killed the last two live trees they had before, so now they've gone to a tree-like structure instead.
we're be moving to the east bay, so Berkeley area, most likely. this is where we lived before we moved back east, and really felt at home there. i am just flabbergasted by the cost of houses, tho!
The housing costs are up there. Home prices seem to be fluctuating in the city, more so with condos than homes. I'm not familiar with east bay prices.
after seeing the AVAM, I'm surprised there isn't something like it in the Bay Area.
I'm so excited for you!!! Welcome back to the west ~ maybe I'll get to meet you in person one of these days soon :)
Marisa- I'd love to meet you someday, too! My grandmother lives in Pacific Palisades, and so I'll most certainly be down in your neck of the woods to visit her at some point...
Wow, good luck with the move! That's a big one, too.
Hi Rachel!
I was just in SF over the weekend and I had an absolute blast! Anyway, wanted to make sure that you know about the Mundane Journeys: Field Guide to Color. I do say it's THE book for you!
