Guest post at Bossy Color

What do you think of color design reality shows?

Head over to Bossy Color's blog for a guest post I wrote for her on "Covering the Spectrum with 'Color Confidential' "

Thanks for the invitation to write for you, Annie!

I kind of liked that show. It's really simple but at least she recolors using existing items. If I remember right, she usually used a lot of existing elements.

That's how a lot of real people have to decorate. Starting with a new sofa or rug and then building an entire space around it, shopping furniture and accessories all at once for a total redesign, isn't realistic for many people -- especially in this economy.

But almost every budget can afford a gallon or two of paint and a few updates. I think that is/was one big positives for that color reality show.

thanks for your comment/feedback, Lori.
i agree, its certainly a step in the right direction when we are presented with a show that has at least some semblance of reality. the episode i saw on the plane didn't bring in any new furniture, but all the existing pieces were reupholstered- which can get very pricey!
